Cholesterol Synthesis Inhibition involves interference with, or restraint of, the enzymatic formation of the principal sterol of vertebrates in body tissues and blood plasma, an important component of cell membranes, the major precursor for the synthesis of vitamin D and steroid hormones, and an important substance for brain synapses and immune functions.
