Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Information System is a database maintained by EPA that contains information such as the current status of cleanup efforts, cleanup milestones reached, and amounts of liquid and solid media treated at sites on the National Priorities List (NPL) or under consideration for the NPL. These data are from CERCLIS.

  2. 1. The NCP defines CERCLIS, in part, as "EPA's comprehensive data base and management system that inventories and tracks released addressed or needing to be addressed by the Superfund program. CERCLIS contains the official inventory of CERCLA sites and supports EPA's planning and tracking functions."

    2. See http://www.epa.gov/superfund/sites/cursites/index.htm. The CERCLA Information System is an EPA database of information about Superfund sites. This information is intended for use by EPA employees for management of the Superfund program.

    3. A computerized database used to track hazardous substance sites.
