1. A systematic plan for the automatic solution of a problem by a computer.
2. A sequence of instructions enabling a computer to solve a problem. See also SOFTWARE.
3. A set of instructions, written in the syntax of a computer language, that provide the computer with a step-by-step logical process. Computer programs are also referred to as code.
