Continual improvement

1. Process of enhancing the environmental management system to achieve improvements in overall environmental performance, in line with the organization's environmental policy. Note - The process need not take place in all areas of activity simultaneously.

2. A recurring process of enhancing the environmental management system in order to achieve improvements in overall environmental performance consistent with the organization's environmental policy. (Continual Improvement is defined similarly in OHSAS 18001:2007 - environmental is substituted with OH&S).
