Crassulacean Acid Metabolism Plant Photosynthesis

Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-006870

Photosynthesis in plants that can temporarily separate the processes of carbon dioxide uptake and fixation when grown under arid conditions. Gaseous carbon dioxide is taken up at night when the stomata are open and water loss is minimal. During the day when the stomata are closed, the stored CO2 is released and chemically processed.
