Data Quality

1. The term data quality refers to all features and characteristics of data that bear on its ability to meet the stated or implied needs and expectations of the user.
2. A measure of the degree of acceptability or utility of data for a particular purpose.
3. The totality of features and characteristics of data that bears on their ability to satisfy a given purpose; the sum of the degrees of excellence for factors related to data (QAMS 1993, 7).
4. The encompassing term regarding the quality of information used for analysis and/or dissemination. Utility, objectivity, and integrity are constituents of data quality.
