Dual fuel engine
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-008703
1. Any vehicle/engine engineered and designed to be operated on two or more different fuels, but not on a mixture of the fuels.
2. Any stationary RICE in which a liquid fuel (typically diesel fuel) is used for compression ignition and gaseous fuel (typically natural gas) is used as the primary fuel.
3. Any motor vehicle (or motor vehicle engine) engineered and designed to be operated on two different fuels, but not on a mixture of the fuels.
4. Relating to an engine designed for operation on two different fuels but not on a continuous mixture of those fuels.
5. Relating to an engine designed for operation on two different fuels but not on a continuous mixture of those fuels (see § 1054.601(d)). For purposes of this part, such an engine remains a dual-fuel engine even if it is designed for operation on three or more different fuels.
