1. A sample taken from and representative of the same population as another sample. Both samples are carried through the steps of sampling, storage, and analysis in an identical manner.
2. A copy of a paper document, microform, or magnetic tape or disk.
3. A second aliquot or sample that is treated the same as the original sample in order to determine the precision of the analytical method.
