Electric furnace

1. Any furnace which uses electricity to produce over 50 percent of the heat required in the production of refined brass or bronze.
2. Smelting furnace consisting of a vessel into which reverberatory furnace slag is introduced and that uses electrical energy to heat the reverberatory furnace slag to such a temperature (greater than 980 Celsius) that lead compounds are reduced to elemental lead metal.
