Emergency Planning & Community Right-To-Know Act

To extend and amend the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act of 1980, and for other purposes.
1. See http://www.epa.gov/superfund/contacts/infocenter/epcra.htm. The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA), also known as SARA Title III, was enacted in November 1986. This law provides an infrastructure at the state and local levels to plan for chemical emergencies. Facilities that store, use, or release certain chemicals, may be subject to various reporting requirements. Reported information is then made publicly available so that interested parties may become informed about potentially dangerous chemicals in their community.
2. The Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) of 1986, which is the third part of the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act of 1986, also known as SARA Title III.
3. The Act designed to help communities prepare to respond in the event of a chemical emergency and to increase the public's knowledge of the presence and threat of hazardous chemicals.
