Emission Unit

1. Any part of an air pollution source that emits, or may emit, air pollutants into the atmosphere.

2. Any part or activity of a stationary source that emits or has the potential to emit any regulated air pollutant or any pollutant listed under section 112(b) of the Act. This term is not meant to alter or affect the definition of the term “unit” for purposes of title IV of the Act. [40 CFR 70.2 (CFR 2013)]

3. Any part or activity of a stationary source that emits or has the potential to emit any hazardous air pollutant.

4. Group 1 furnace or in-line fluxer at a secondary aluminum production facility.
