1. In the context of restoration ecology, any improvement of a structural or functional attribute.

2. Wetland enhancement is the rehabilitation or reestablishment of a degraded wetland, and/or the modification of an existing wetland, which augments specific site conditions for specific species or purposes, possibly at the expense of other functions and other species.
