Environmental information collection and assessment activities

Environmental information collection and assessment activities represent any activities that involve collection, assessment, or use of environmental data. Per CIO Order 2105, environmental data are any measurements or information that describe environmental processes or conditions, or the performance of environmental technology. For EPA, environmental data include information collected directly from measurements, produced from models, and compiled from other sources such as data bases or the literature. Environmental technology includes treatment systems, pollution control systems and devices, and waste remediation and storage methods.
