Fate and Transport Model

1. Fate and transport modeling calculates the movement of pollutants in the environment. Fate and transport models are further categorized into the transport media they represent: subsurface, air, and surface water.
2. The mathematical equations simulating a physical system which are used to assess and predict the movement and behavior of chemicals in the environment. [EPA 2004]
