Feedback Mechanism
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-010837
1. A sequence of interactions in which the final interaction influences the original one.
2. Factors which increase or amplify (positive feedback) or decrease (negative feedback) the rate of a process. An example of positive climatic feedback is the ice-albedo feedback.
3. The process through which a system is controlled, changed, or modulated in response to its own output. Positive feedback results in amplification of the system output; negative feedback reduces the output of a system.
