Final Remedy Selection

1. The final remedy selected is a cleanup milestone which focuses on the measure(s) that EPA has determined will best address, correct, or remediate the contamination concerns at the site. The final remedy is documented in the last planned Record of Decision (ROD) document at the site. The ROD provides the justification for the remedial action (treatment) chosen at a Superfund site. It also contains site history, site description, site characteristics, community participation, enforcement activities, past and present activities, contaminated media, the contaminants present, scope and role of response action, and the remedy selected for cleanup.
