Glycolipids

Any compound containing one or more monosaccharide residues bound by a glycosidic linkage to a hydrophobic moiety such as an acylglycerol (see glycerides), a sphingoid, a ceramide ( ceramides) (N-acylsphingoid) or a prenyl phosphate.
