Gray Water
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-012530
1. Water that is considered waste and not to be used for cleaning milking systems. Usually including recycled water from a lagoon or milk house waste. Even water only used to cool milk in a plate cooler is considered gray water, though it is often fed to cows to reduce total usage.
2. Domestic wastewater composed of wash water from kitchen, bathroom, and laundry sinks, tubs, and washers.
3. Any washwater that has been used in a home or business, except water from toilets. This water is considered to be more reusable, especially for landscape irrigation purposes.
4. Wastewater from showers, galleys, laundries, deck drains, lavatories, interior deck drains, water fountains, miscellaneous shop sinks, and similar sources.
