Grid Model

Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-012605

Grid models are used primarily to assess concentrations of secondary criteria pollutants (e.g., ozone) in regional airsheds to develop plans (SIPs) and rules with the objective of attaining ambient air quality standards (NAAQS). Both atmospheric dynamics and chemistry are important components of 3-D grid models.
