Hard Bottom Habitat

Shallow and deep-water habitats with substrates consisting of bedrock, rocks, boulders, gravel, or pebbles. The solid floor typically provides an attachment surface for sessile organisms as well as a rough three-dimensional surface that encourages water mixing and nutrient cycling.
