Hazardous substance migration path

The path that hazardous substances travel (or would travel) overland from a source to surface water (overland segment) and within surface water to the target distance limit (in - water segment). In certain cases (e.g., sites consisting only of contaminated sediments, sites where sources are located in surface water bodies), the hazardous substance migration path consists of only an in - water segment.
