Indirect Discharge

1. The introduction of pollutants from a non-domestic source into a publicly owned wastewater treatment system. Indirect dischargers can be commercial or industrial facilities who must pre-treat their wastes before discharge into local sewers.

2. A nondomestic discharge introducing pollutants to a publicly owned treatment works.

3. The introduction of pollutants into a municipal sewage treatment system from any nondomestic source (i.e., any industrial or commercial facility) regulated under Section 307(b), (c), or (d) of the CWA.

4. A non-domestic discharge introducing pollutants to a publicly owned treatment works.
