  "definition": "Ion Composition Elucidation (ICE) utilizes selected ion recording with a double focusing mass spectrometer to simultaneously determine exact masses and relative isotopic abundances from mass peak profiles. These can be determined more accurately and at higher sensitivity than with high resolution employing conventional scanning mass spectrometry. The technique can be applied to trace concentrations of analytes eluting from complex environmental mixtures. ICE has two facets: Mass Peak Profiling from Selected Ion Recording Data (MPPSIRD) for data acquisition and a Profile Generation Model (PGM) for automated composition assignment.",
