Iterative Truncation
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-015062
A method of calculating a PRG that involves developing an expression for the concentration term in which high-end values are “truncated” to reduce the maximum concentration, and calculating risks associated with the reduced concentration. The method may be repeated with consecutively lower truncation limits until risk is acceptable. Iterative truncation methods avoid difficulties associated with applying Monte Carlo analysis to a backcalculation.
