Initially developed by Netscape, JavaScript is a Web scripting language that extends the capabilities of basic HTML by producing content that changes in response to user actions. JavaScript is embedded into a Web page's HTML code, always remaining part of the HTML document to which it is attached. JavaScript can be used in a variety of ways to create special graphical effects, validate user survey forms, etc.
