1. A technique or process that focuses on job tasks as a way to identify hazards before they occur by analyzing the relationships between the worker, the tasks, the tools, and the work environment.
2. A JHA is a technique to identify hazards for specific job tasks before they occur. It focuses on the relationship between the worker, the task, the tools, and the work environment. After hazards are identified, controls are implemented to eliminate or reduce them to an acceptable risk level.
