Model Boundary

Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-017605

1. Designates areas of competence of the model, including time, space, pathogens, pathways and exposed populations, and acceptable ranges of values for each input and jointly among all inputs for which the model meets data quality objectives. (FAO/WHO 2003b)

2. The spatial and temporal conditions and practical constraints under which environmental data are collected. Boundaries specify the area or volume (spatial boundary) and the time period (temporal boundary) to which a model application will apply (EPA 2000a).
