Open-Loop Recycling

1. A recycling process in which materials from old products are made into new products in a manner that changes the inherent properties of the materials.
2. A recycling process in which the primary product is remanufactured into other products that are different from the original primary product. (e.g., carpet recycled into molded auto parts).
