Specific industry categories that facilities are grouped in based on the release of pollutants from discrete point sources (i.e., pipes and smokestacks). Search Considerations: Point source category classification is based on a facility's primary SIC code in ICIS-NPDES. SIC codes are not required to be reported in ICIS-NPDES. Searching on point source category will only return records for facilities that (1) have a primary SIC code in ICIS-NPDES, and (2) have an SIC code that maps to a point source category.",
