Proton-Transfer-Reaction Mass Spectrometry
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-022634
1. Method of determining concentration of a component in a gas mixture by attaching to it a proton, the resulting product then being measured by any convenient means of mass spectroscopy.
2. Type of mass spectrometry in which H3O+ ions are made to interact with trace amounts of substances of interest to form charged ions (by proton transfer) which are then analyzed by a mass spectrometer.
