Radiation Exposure
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-022987
Radiation exposure, also called irradiation, occurs when radioactive material or a radiation machine emits radiation. You can be exposed to radiation without being contaminated. Having a medical x-ray is an example of being exposed but not contaminated. Many radiation monitors measure exposure rates. The units for exposure are the roentgen (R) and coulomb/kilogram (C/kg).
