1. A flexible, toothed organ in the mouths of gastropods used to graze and scrape microscopic algae off hard surfaces.

2. A scraping organ for mastication in certain mollusks, such as snails. In many gastropods the radula consists of a variable number of chitinous teeth, of different shape and size, located in the anterior portion of the pharynx.
