Remedial Action Plan

Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-023747

1. A Remedial Action Plan, tailored to the needs of the remediation waste management site, is used in place of a permit when the permit would not be the most efficient way to conduct the cleanup activity.

2. A remediation plan being developed for each of the Areas of Concern. Often referred to as a RAP, its purpose is to restore all beneficial uses to the river under study.

3. Detailed plan for remediation of onsite contamination, including cleanup methods, long-term maintenance requirements and long-term stewardship obligations.

4. Written plan (or plans) for disposal and cleanup of residual radioactive materials associated with a processing site that incorporates the results of site characterization studies, environmental assessments or impact statements, and engineering assessments so as to satisfy the requirements of subparts A and B of this part. The plan(s) shall be developed in accordance with the provisions of Section 108(a) of the Act with the concurrence of the Commission and in consultation, as appropriate, with the Indian Tribe and the Secretary of Interior.

5. Special form of RCRA permit that a facility owner or operator may obtain instead of a permit issued under §§ 270.3 through 270.66, to authorize the treatment, storage or disposal of hazardous remediation waste (as defined in § 260.10 of this chapter) at a remediation waste management site.
