REST Web Service
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-024151
Software system designed to support machine-to-machine interaction over a network. Representational State Transfer (REST) services do not require XML, SOAP, or WSDL, but rely on the exchange of requests and responses between the resources and on their corresponding states. REST-style services facilitate the aggregation of services into more complex services and the development of mash-ups. REST services are usually accessed via HTTP (like a web URL or link).
