Similar Samples

Samples from the same environmental medium that are identical or similar in every way except the degree to which they are impacted by a site. For example, two water samples taken from different points in the same stream would be similar samples if they are identical, except that one is contaminated by runoff from a site, while the other is upstream of the site and unaffected by site runoff.
