State Deferral

The EPA region has entered into an agreement with a state to defer from listing on the National Priorities List (NPL) an NPL-caliber site or a site proposed to the NPL. The state uses its own authority to compel and oversee potentially responsible party (PRP) response or implements a response using its own resources.
