1. A band of ultraviolet radiation with wavelengths shorter than 280 nanometers. UVC is extremely dangerous, but it is completely absorbed by ozone and normal oxygen (O2). See the NASA Web site (http://www.nas.nasa.gov/About/Education/Ozone/radiation.html) for more information.
