Water Salinity

1. The degree of salt in water. [NASA Sustainable Development Indicators Glossary]
2. Measure of the salt concentration of water. Higher salinity means the water is more salty, while low salinity means that the water is more fresh. Salinity is usually measured in parts per thousand (ppt).
