Water solubility
Term · Environment · MLC-T-ENV-030121
1. The maximum concentration of a chemical compound which can result when it is dissolved in water. If a substance is water soluble, it can very readily disperse through the environment.
2. The maximum possible concentration of a chemical compound dissolved in water. If a substance is water soluble it can very readily disperse through the environment.
3. The extent to which a compound will dissolve in water. The log of solubility is generally inversely related to molecular weight.
4. Measure of the maximum amount of a chemical that will dissolve in pure water.
