Witches' Broom

1. Abnormal proliferations of shoots or branches caused by a pathogen (e.g., from dwarf mistletoe).

2. Disease of trees and shrubs brought on by the stress of disease or pests, such as aphids. The tree or shrub develops small masses of twigs and branches along its branches that have the appearance of the working end of a broom.
