Back to back ticket

The practice of purchasing two separate round-trip tickets with overlapping dates instead of one, to circumvent minimum-stay requirements imposed by airlines on cheaper fares. A traveler uses the first half of one ticket to depart and the first half of the second ticket to return, discarding the remaining portions. This ticketing method is prohibited by most airlines' contract of carriage rules.
