A barrier or series of gates at the entrance or exit of a transportation hub, such as a railway station or subway, controlling passenger flow and ticket validation. Passengers must present a valid ticket or pass to gain entry or exit, preventing fare evasion and managing capacity. These systems often incorporate automated turnstiles or ticket barriers.
