Ditchfinder

UK motor trade slang for a cheap, poor-quality car tyre, named for the idea that its weak grip, especially in the wet, will put the car in a ditch. It is applied mainly to unbranded budget tyres, in contrast with premium makes whose wet braking performance is graded on the European tyre label.
