Dreadnought

A type of battleship characterized by an 'all big gun' armament scheme and steam turbine propulsion, first introduced in the early 20th century. This design rendered all previous battleships obsolete, initiating a naval arms race. HMS Dreadnought, launched in 1906, was the first ship of this class.
