Flush cast

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002373

A casting process where a molten metal is poured into a mold and then quickly poured out after a thin outer shell has solidified. This technique, also known as slush casting, is used to create hollow, lightweight objects with a detailed exterior surface. The thickness of the resulting shell is determined by the thermal properties of the metal and the mold, as well as the duration the molten metal remains in the cavity before being decanted.
