Navcam

A navigation camera used on spacecraft, planetary rovers, or unmanned aerial vehicles to provide imagery for autonomous or remotely piloted guidance and hazard avoidance. These cameras capture stereoscopic or wide-angle views of the surrounding terrain, which onboard computers process to determine the vehicle's position, create 3D maps, and identify safe paths. The images from a navcam are a primary input for the guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) system.
