Portulaca

A genus of succulent plants, some species of which are cultivated as ornamental garden plants or as edible greens. These plants are characterized by their fleshy leaves and stems, and brightly colored flowers that open in sunlight. One common species, Portulaca oleracea, is known as purslane.
