Pseudochannel

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004550

A simulated or virtual channel within a data acquisition system that represents a calculated value rather than a direct physical measurement. It derives its data by performing mathematical or logical operations on one or more real input channels. For example, a pseudochannel can be configured to display the difference in temperature between two thermocouple inputs or to convert a voltage reading into a pressure unit.
