A rejected takeoff, an aborted attempt to depart from a runway after the aircraft has begun its takeoff roll. This procedure is initiated by the flight crew due to an emergency, system malfunction, or other unsafe condition. Strict procedures govern the decision to perform an RTO, especially at high speeds.
