Station-to-station
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005630
A type of telephone call billing where charges begin when the receiving telephone is answered, regardless of who answers it. This contrasts with a person-to-person call, which required operator assistance to connect a specific individual and was billed at a higher rate. Station-to-station dialing became the default for customer-dialed long-distance calls with the expansion of automated switching systems.
